The Solo Budget is NOT a traditional budget spreadsheet. Here’s how we’re different:

Every other budget spreadsheet:

• Plan income and expenses, but then nothing happens when you go over budget
• Spend time tracking every detail of your finances, and still provide useless stats
• Promotes a life of restriction and saving for the sake of saving
• The goal is to help you spend less

The Solo Budget:

What you need:

• Access to a computer, Google account and internet. This is the cash envelope system in spreadsheet form and we use Google Sheets for that.
• Minimum ability to read and navigate a spreadsheet. You only ever need to fill in cells with your data, there’s no further manipulation of the spreadsheet from you (like adding rows or sheets, copying data etc).
• Access to you financial information. We don’t ask for or store anything. You’ll have your own copy of the spreadsheet on your own account that we can’t access at all.
• Motivation to take control of your money & 15-20 minutes/week to update the spreadsheet and see some magic happen.
